Host and chef de cuisine Engelbert Fritz has a takes great pride in the production of fine spirits. Superb brandies are made from the sun-ripened fruit from our own orchards. There is a century long tradition of schnapps distilling in Tyrol which is inseparable from the region’s cuisine. The variety of distillates is overwhelming: Now and then the best our local nature has to offer, from A for apple to Z for “Zirbe” (arolla pine), is transformed into the finest Tyrolean schnapps. Whether it is the full-flavoured pear, the aromatic plum, or the bitter-spicy rowan berries – we welcome you to have a taste of all our distilled treasures – Engelbert Fritz might even disclose one or two secrets about the art of distilling Tyrolean schnapps.
